Tsawaayuus is a Multi-level Care Facility licensed under the Hospital Licensing Act.
Tsawaayuus is operated under the direction of the Westcoast Native Health Care Society and contracts with the Ministry of Health to provide service under the Continuing Care Facility Act.
Funding is received from the Provincial Ministry of Health.
As this is a designated multi-level care facility, Residents who are assessed as either Intermediate Care or Extended Care can reside here on an on-going basis.
Your Help is Needed!
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in all of our activities for the benefit of Residents at Tsawaayuus.
We always need more volunteers.
We have had great success fund-raising for items such as a Blanket Warmer and a Wheelchair Accessible Van. We are continually planning projects, which will increase the quality of life for Residents. Every donation of resource, including your time is always appreciated.
Applying for Admission to Tsawaayuus:
The Ministry of Health, Continuing Care Division, must be contacted to obtain admission to Tsawaayuus.
Families or individuals request an assessment through the Continuing Care Division by a nurse who works out of their local Health Unit.
Tribal Council or Band Community Health Nurses may assess individuals living on reserve.
Once assessed, individuals are wait-listed until a bed becomes available.
Individuals or families interested in touring the facility are welcome. Please call and make arrangements.
